System Factory Restore

SNC Delivest System Factory Restore functionality is based on build-in snapshot technology.
Factory restore is simple restoration of original (not yet configured by the user) system image snapshot
from compressed image file, which is held on separate hidden partition. This function is accessible via
main menu entry "SNC Delivest - System - Factory Recovery SNC Delivest". ! ATTENTION ! If possible, please backup all
your data files before restoring to factory configuration, as your entire configuration, data and additionally
installed software will be lost.

Such snapshot technology easily allows User's configured environment (including additional
software and configuration) to be frozen and locked into read-only media for safety reasons. Custom ordered SNC Delivest Fx
version of Office Works Suite is providing maximum security, as storage media is fully protected from writing, all current
changes of the system are held in memory only and after switch off of the system, all sensitive User's data is never retained.
"Back in time" backup system
SNC Delivest secure remote Office Works platform provides full featured automated backup for user data, configurations
and custom software. It uses Linux "Back in time" framework based on cron, rsync and hard-linked files. It has the characteristic
feature of using hard links for files, which are identical in snapshots at different times, thus using disk space just once for files
that remained unchanged. It is possible to use several backup profiles, e.g. for backups on different hard disks and also to create
schedules. Symbolic links can be backed up, both absolute and relative ones, but hard links cannot be treated as such due to the used
backup method. Back In Time also supports encryption of backups and backup over SSH.
Detailed user documentation is available for flexible setup of the
backup plan. We advise you to consider two different approaches for your data backup:
- Automatic Local Storage - remaining space of SNC Delivest Office Works USB media is used as a backup storage.
It comes preformatted as ext4 partition named "User DATA" and you can use it for backups, altogether with other high volume storage needs.
Advantage is full automation and no user intervention except initial setup.
- Secure Offsite Storage - separate USB device is used as backup storage media, and stored independently from SNC Delivest
Office Works USB media. Advantage is security of separated main and backup copies, but it brings inconvenience -
all backup procedures should be started manually, after separate backup media is mounted on the system.
